MDDP HDTV's have an image projected onto the screen from behind, similar to CRT based RPTV (Rear Projection Television). However, MDDP is vastly different in terms of brightness and resolution. The difference is obvious with one glance at the screen - MDDP provides dramatically superior performance. MDDP also has the advantage in that it makes the television set thinner and lighter. The larger the screen size, the more profound the difference becomes.
